Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search box is submitted to the third-party results provider, not retained as a search log by our servers. If you contact us, we receive the information included in the message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting may create standard logs, including IP address, browser type, page views, and times. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand general use. Cookies or comparable technology may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
What We Do With This Data
Operating the site, fixing problems, counting traffic, improving pages. We do not sell visitor lists and we do not build profiles of individual users.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data held by a website. Nebraska research for this project identifies the Nebraska Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. ยงยง84-712 to 84-712.09, for government records, not a separate state consumer-privacy statute to cite here. Because we keep very little, a request ordinarily involves reviewing the contact mailbox and server logs. Use the Contact page. Records held by Nebraska, Buffalo County, or City of Kearney offices remain under the control of their custodian.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
